I decided to write a book. About a year ago, I began by keeping a list of ideas about the creative process. I've joked about the world needing "one more book about creativity" but concluded that I had something to say. There is already a plethora of books about creativity out there and I've read a lot of them.
I began writing in earnest the end of June. We were on vacation in Scotland and our daughter was very sick with what turned out to be mononucleosis. I found my voice in the lovely seaside town of St. Andrews.
I have used Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass to illustrate the creative process. I've had a wonderful time exploring those stories in my own way.
I'm in the final stretch now. I'm doing some ink illustrations and final edits on the manuscript. I'm hoping to have a published book in my hands by the middle of June. It's all very exciting... And a bit intimidating...
I've always dreamed about writing a book. Now that dream is becoming a reality. I told a friend recently how I feel like I'm not getting anything done, she reminded me that I'm WRITING A BOOK! What's your secret dream? What do you need to do to make it a reality?
