Finding Nemo is one of my favorite Disney movies. Actually, I really like all the Disney movies.
So why Finding Nemo in a blog about creativity?
Because of the movie's messages.
In one charming little animated movie we learn about fear, persistence, faith, living in the moment, just riding the current, working together, and asking for help.
Dori is my favorite character in the movie.
She is a regal blue tang voiced by Ellen DeGeneres.
Dori has short term memory loss and as a result, she lives completely in the moment.
I strive to live in the moment on a daily basis.
Living in the moment means I am present, "all there" for whatever is going on.
At a particularly scary part of her journey with the clown fish named Marlin,
when they are both know they can't turn back and they are frightened of going forward,
Dori wisely says, "Just keep swimming."
We can all remember to just keep moving forward, no matter what life throws our way.
Creative endeavors can be scary.
We put ourselves out there in a unique way during the creative process.
So, when you think the sharks might be just around corner and you're lost in the ocean deep of life,
JUST KEEP SWIMMING!
